全国の寺を窃盗行脚　男２人逮捕

全国各地で寺院の庫裏（くり）ばかりを狙って空き巣を重ねていたとして、大阪や福井など九府県警の共同捜査本部は二十七日までに、窃盗容疑などで大阪市住吉区の無職の男とと同市住之江の無職の男の両容疑者を逮捕した。被害は福井、京都、滋賀など東北から九州の十五府県で約百二十件、総額約三千八百万円相当にのぼるという。
二人は容疑を認め「田舎の寺は住職が留守なのに無施錠も多かった」と供述しているという。

調べでは、容疑者らは四月十三日正午ごろ、福井市みのり、本法寺の庫裏に無施錠の玄関から侵入して現金約六百万円と貴金属九百万円相当を盗むなど、今年二月から五月に同様の犯行を繰り返した疑い。航空機や新幹線で各地を移動しながら、参拝者が少ない寺院を狙っていた。
